Login Issues

Having trouble logging into FabriXWork? This guide helps you resolve authentication problems.

Quick Fixes: Try These First

Fix 1: Check Your Credentials

  • Verify your username/email is correct (check for typos)
  • Ensure Caps Lock is off (passwords are case-sensitive)
  • Try typing your password in a text editor first, then copy-paste

Fix 2: Check Internet Connection

  • Open a browser and load a website
  • If on WiFi, try switching to wired (or vice versa)
  • Try a different network if available

Fix 3: Restart the Application

1. Close FabriXWork completely
2. Wait 10 seconds
3. Reopen and try logging in again

Fix 4: Wait and Retry

If your account is locked due to failed attempts:

  • Wait 15-30 minutes
  • Try again with correct credentials

Common Login Issues

Issue: "Invalid Username or Password"

Possible causes:

  • Typo in username or password
  • Wrong account (e.g., personal vs. work email)
  • Password was changed recently
  • Account not yet activated

Solutions:

Solution 1: Reset Password

1. Click "Forgot Password?" link on login screen
2. Enter your email address
3. Check your email for reset link
4. Follow the link to create a new password
5. Try logging in with new password

Solution 2: Verify Your Username

- Confirm with your administrator which email/username to use
- Some organizations use SSO (Single Sign-On) with different credentials
- Check for typos: extra spaces, wrong characters

Solution 3: Check Account Activation

- Did you receive an activation email?
- Did you click the activation link?
- If not, contact your administrator to activate your account

Solution 4: Clear Saved Credentials

macOS:
1. Open Keychain Access (in Applications → Utilities)
2. Search for "FabriXWork"
3. Delete any saved entries
4. Restart FabriXWork and enter credentials fresh

Windows:
1. Go to Control Panel → Credential Manager
2. Find FabriXWork entries
3. Remove them
4. Restart FabriXWork and enter credentials fresh

Issue: "Account Locked" or "Too Many Failed Attempts"

What's happening:
For security, accounts are temporarily locked after multiple failed login attempts.

Solutions:

Solution 1: Wait It Out

- Most lockouts last 15-30 minutes
- Don't keep trying—this may reset the timer
- Wait at least 30 minutes before trying again

Solution 2: Contact Administrator

If you need immediate access:
1. Contact fabriXWork Support Team
2. They can unlock your account manually
3. Verify your identity first

Solution 3: Password Reset

Sometimes resetting your password also clears the lockout:
1. Use "Forgot Password?" link
2. Complete the reset process
3. Try logging in with new password

Issue: "Session Expired" or Keeps Logging Out

Possible causes:

  • Session timeout (security feature)
  • Browser/app cache issues
  • Network interruptions
  • Server-side session invalidation

Solutions:

Solution 1: Check Session Duration

- Sessions typically last 8-12 hours
- If you need longer, log in again (this is normal)
- Save your work before sessions expire

Solution 2: Clear Cache

macOS:
1. Close FabriXWork
2. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/
3. Find and clear FabriXWork cache folder
4. Restart

Windows:
1. Close FabriXWork
2. Go to %APPDATA%\FabriXWork\
3. Clear cache files
4. Restart

Solution 3: Check Network Stability

- Intermittent network can cause session drops
- Try a more stable network connection
- If on WiFi, move closer to router or use wired

Solution 4: Don't Use Multiple Sessions

- Logging in from multiple devices may invalidate sessions
- Use one device at a time when possible
- Log out properly before switching devices

Issue: Login Page Won't Load

Possible causes:

  • Network connectivity
  • Server downtime
  • DNS issues
  • Firewall blocking

Solutions:

Solution 1: Check Internet

- Open a browser and load any website
- If nothing loads, fix your internet connection first

Solution 2: Try Different Network

- If on corporate WiFi, try guest network or mobile hotspot
- Some networks may block certain services

Solution 3: Check Server Status

- Contact your administrator to verify server is up
- Ask if there's scheduled maintenance
- Check if other users are affected

Solution 4: DNS Flush

macOS:
1. Open Terminal
2. Run: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
3. Enter password when prompted

Windows:
1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
2. Run: ipconfig /flushdns

Issue: "Access Denied" or "Unauthorized"

Possible causes:

  • Account not provisioned for FabriXWork
  • Permissions changed
  • Account deactivated
  • Wrong environment (test vs. production)

Solutions:

Solution 1: Verify Account Status

Contact your administrator to confirm:
- Your account is active
- You have access to FabriXWork
- Your permissions are correct

Solution 2: Check Environment

- Are you logging into the correct environment?
- Some organizations have test and production environments
- Verify the URL/server with your administrator

Solution 3: SSO Issues

If your organization uses Single Sign-On:
1. Make sure you're using the SSO login option
2. Verify your SSO credentials work elsewhere
3. Contact IT if SSO is failing

Password Best Practices

Creating a Strong Password

✅ Do:

  • Use at least 12 characters
  • Mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
  • Use a password manager to generate and store
  • Use a unique password (not used elsewhere)

❌ Don't:

  • Use common words or phrases
  • Use personal information (birthdays, names)
  • Reuse passwords from other accounts
  • Write it down in an insecure place

Password Management Tips

Use a Password Manager:

  • 1Password, LastPass, Bitwarden, etc.
  • Generate strong, unique passwords
  • Auto-fill credentials securely

Enable Password Reset:

  • Make sure your recovery email is current
  • Add a recovery phone number if available
  • Keep recovery options updated

Network-Related Login Issues

Issue: Behind Corporate Firewall

What's happening:
Some corporate networks block certain services.

Solutions:

1. Contact IT to whitelist FabriXWork
2. Ask about proxy settings
3. Try from a different network (if allowed)
4. Use mobile hotspot as a test

Issue: VPN Interference

What's happening:
VPN can sometimes interfere with authentication.

Solutions:

1. Try disconnecting VPN temporarily
2. If login works, VPN may need configuration
3. Contact IT to configure VPN properly
4. Some VPNs have split-tunneling options

Still Can't Log In?

Step 1: Document the Issue

  • Exact error message
  • When it started
  • What you've tried
  • Your username (first initial + last name, or email)
