Detailed Diagnostics

If the quick checks didn't identify the issue, work through these steps:

Step 1: Identify the Problem Area

Which category best describes your issue?

  • [ ] Installation/Launch - App won't start, crashes on open
  • [ ] Authentication - Login problems, access denied
  • [ ] Agent Interaction - Can't chat, agent doesn't respond
  • [ ] Output Quality - Agent responses are wrong or unhelpful
  • [ ] File Operations - Files not created, modified, or saved correctly
  • [ ] Performance - Slow, laggy, high resource usage
  • [ ] Other - Something else

Step 2: Gather Information

Before seeking help, collect this information:

  1. What were you trying to do?

    • Be specific: "I was trying to add an agent" vs. "It doesn't work"
  2. What error messages did you see?

    • Copy the exact text
    • Take a screenshot if possible
  3. When did it start happening?

    • First time using FabriXWork?
    • After an update?
    • Suddenly, after working fine before?
  4. Can you reproduce it?

    • Does it happen every time?
    • Only with certain agents?
    • Only with certain files?
  5. What have you tried already?

    • List the troubleshooting steps you've attempted

Step 3: Try Universal Fixes

These fixes work for many issues:

Fix 1: Restart the Application

1. Close FabriXWork completely (Cmd+Q on Mac, Alt+F4 on Windows)
2. Wait 10 seconds
3. Reopen FabriXWork
4. Try your task again

Fix 2: Start a New Agent Session

1. Close the current chat
2. Click on the agent again in the sidebar
3. Start fresh with a new message

Fix 3: Reconnect Your Folder

1. In the chat interface, click "Change" on the folder panel
2. Select your folder again
3. Confirm the folder is accessible

Fix 4: Check for Updates

1. Go to Settings (gear icon)
2. Look for "Check for Updates" or version info
3. If update available, follow prompts to install

Fix 5: Restart Your Computer

Sometimes a full system restart resolves underlying issues.

Step 4: Document What You Found

Create a brief summary:

Issue Summary:
- What I was trying to do: [description]
- What happened instead: [description]
- Error message (if any): [exact text]
- When it started: [date/time]
- Can I reproduce it: [yes/no, how]
- What I've tried: [list of steps]
- System: [macOS/Windows + version]
